Brian and I married in 1973 and have lived in Dallas, Texas; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Arden Hills, Minnesota, Hudson,Wisconsin, Waterloo, Belgium; Hudson again; Chicago; and finally Minong, Wisconsin. I like to refer to Minong as the "Riviera of the Northland"!
I have taught many types of dance and exercise classes for toddlers through adults. I've "retired" from all that and now work with Colin in sales, etc. for our countertop company in Spooner.
Remember when we girls were required to wear dresses or skirts except on special days, then we could wear slacks! I think this may have been a 2 or 3 time occasion, in my memory. My, how times have changed.
7th-grade home ec class and the broiled grapefruit;
8th-grade science class, phosphorous sparks flying and landing on Sheralyn Hoversholm's dress; was this the year with Miss Cahill? shudder
9th grade physical fitness tests and walking down the granite stairs the next day with really sore hip flexors from the sit ups
10th-grade starting an hour before everyone else, Biology class, too early to smell formaldehyde (skipping with Marlene Nelson, caught by Mr. Tornowski)
11th-grade no math class-geometry in 10th grade cured me-DECA convention lots of fun
12th-grade Algebra with Chlorn Peterson, one of the best teachers I encountered
I decided I needed more math, good decision, geometry was silly to me
but I LOVED algebra
I loved the talent shows, French classes, English classes, 9th-grade civics class, Mr. O'Brien, Mr. Weber's amazing shows he produced, cheerleading, gymnastics, gym and swimming class, good friends and acquaintances and lots of very good teachers. I should've studied but, oh well, there ya go. At the time I didn't think it would make any difference!
Vickie's Latest Interactions
Caryn was such a gentle and wise woman. She was a supportive friend and classmate, I remember her fondly in English classes with her as well as in other activities. I am so sorry to hear she has left us.
I am so sad and sorry to hear of Sheila's death. I remember her as a happy and friendly kid in junior and always had a smile. I so admired her beautiful, thick hair!
I know her children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends will miss her so much. I think she must have been a terrific mother and grandma.
